I think I agree with many of the points that D2LODMaster made, but think that it could have been worded with a bit less hostility. What he said about pushing the envelope with new and radical ideas is something that DOES really need to happen in video games these days. I see that a lot of graphical and configuration things have changed with D3, but do also hope that they can adjust the looking glass, or get eye-level with the playing field and see a new facet, a new angle to approach the game, while still, of course, keeping the theme the same. Take the movie Hancock for example. It shows you “a whole new world” (No, NOT of shining shimmering splendor. Sorry Aladdin fans…) of being a super hero, which is what games these days need. Not a whole new dimension like a different crazy fictional planet… just a game that puts gamers into a new dimension of the gaming experience.
people games take FOREVER to be made that contain as least amount of bugs as possible. they began sketching D3 art around the year 2003-2004 so they have been working and had ideas floating about it for a long ass time. people its a game. not a picture.
well to my mind they should make diablo II with a little bit better graphic, another story (more quests) and maybe new items nothing else … u cant make such a good game better by changing the whole gameplay-feeling i mean if i want to play another game i buy another one … and thats teh problem of the programmers they say they want to make it better and different but why better ppl still enjoy diablo 2 after YEARS and YEARS so can they really make it better? i’d say they can’T … but they just want to sell the good name of a game AND please ppl who would say “well its just like the old one …” if quake III arena would be made with same physics, movement and all the old console commands but with new maps, weapon balance and graphics and called quake4 i do believe more ppl would enjoy the game but they know real fans will buy it and cus its different some ppl will buy it that had had nothing to do with it …
thats my opinion and that business will more and more ruine good old games …
hopefully blizzard does not make this mistake cus ppl who love this game will always enjoy some fresh stuff with classic conditions

Are you serious? How can you people say that D3 is like WoW at all? It’s nowhere near the same as WoW. the colors aren’t all bright and shit like you say. Pull your head out of your asses and quit comparing every game that comes out to WoW. This isn’t WoW, this isn’t D2….it’s fucking D3!! I’m glad they are putting in brand new classes, and as for the witchdoctor like the necromancer? Again…stop comparing this game to D2 so much. The witchdoctor is nothing like the necromancer. Blizzard has finally released D3 and personally I think this game will substantially decrease WoW’s numbers.

Okey if witch docter replaces necromancer im gona be lank annoyed! necro was my fav hero! I just cant see myself playing that witch docter. Its just nt the same without raising skeletons and stuff
But even if theres skeleton summoning and all sorts of stuff its just not the same. For a witch docter, YES, wp on how how you made him look, but not for a summoner of skeletons. I WANT A NECROMANCER THAT LOOKS LIKE A NECROMANCER.

Obviously its the Titans Quest engine but to much stuff has been changed into Titans Quest style.
The way you buy and check out your hero is really dodgy.
Change it back to diablo style where your stats on on the left half of your screen and your inventory and equiptment is on the right hand side.
When you chose spells and skills, keep it the same as old version instead of chaning it into Titans quest style.

MAKE everything big like diablo old style where when you open inventory, its half the screen instead of this minature little thing.
No matter what resolution you have it must take half you screen!

I would rather have a d2 game with only the grphics changed ( so only your character and what you see in the wild. but KEEP THE BAR at the botton the same and all the rest the same!?!?!!? ) than such great graphical game copy of TITANS QUEST. and have the bars and menus etc like TITANS QUEST.

I agree with Dre here. I mean come on guys Blizzard only showed a freaking demo… you really think that that is going to be what the whole game is like? Of course guys are going to get harder on, of course there are going to be more bosses, and ofcorse, as I said, ITS A DEMO, There is going to be WAY more to the game.

Alright for the first thing, the Diablo series have never been “Goth” they have been “Gothic”. It’s a HUGE ******* difference. Goth is a subculture from the 80′s based around a musical genre called “Gothic Rock” and no it’s not related to the Gothic era of art and poetry.
The games is inspired by it tho, Gothic NOT Goth.
And so far, I love the way it look. And it’s way to early to say that it’s too “cheerfull” and such comments as they have only relased TWO areas. I mean common, in Diablo 2 there was more then TWO very “cheerfull” and bright areas.
So far I love the way it looks and seems to be playable.

i just really wanted to know if diablo 3 makes it easy for the new players. in diablo2 lod its kind of a pisstake because id you have nothing people wont trade/buy your stuff so its not fair. and what i wanted to know is if they had more options for mercenaries. Like a belt you could fill with potions and he could auto drink so he would die less. Oh well i just hope it isnt a disapointment. Cant wait.

ok i know this sounds to crazy but i have never played any of the diablos before hopefully diablo 3 will be my first.i watched the trailer and man its freaken cool i loved it all!!!!.now some ppl are mad cause of the witch docter charecter but what i dont think there relise is that not all people enjoy the big men that crush skulls.believe it or not some people would rather use magic.(im more of a mesteriouse stealthy elf person)all im saying is that you dont have to use the witch docter if you dont have to it for the people who would rather use him.the destructable enviroment is cool i think its ok.the only bad thing about d3 is it is i must say alot like titan quest.but it still gonna be fun.i like the creativity in the magic and ways of killing i also like the way of how their form of evil comes ex……the cultists summon demons and those fat things exsplode and eel things come to eat you!.o and i looooove the way billions of zombies crawl up ready for hacking.so i really love the game so far

judging by some of the half wit replies recieved re D3 it makes one wonder just how iliterate some of these people are. D3 to me looks no better or worse than any of the previous diablo pc games put out in recent years.I think there are many other games out there that are better and more worthy of spending money on. I for one wont be there on release day. Have a look at some of the “free” online multiplay games and ask yourself why spend good money on something you can get better elsewhere. I gave D2 expansion a 50 out 100 for interest because the game ended to quickly and had no continuity and had to be repeated time and again!!! online multiplayer games for me. I score Diablo 3 40//100 so get what you can out of it then leave!!!

I love Diablo II, I think I played D2 demo a million times before the full game came out. Played D2 LOD again and again from start to finish with every different character but D1 wasn’t what I thought it would be like, too slow and boring, but the story line was amazing. I found out Diablo III was coming out by chance and it freaked the shit out of me, went up online and searched for every piece of info I can find. Cinematic trailer is brilliant and the game play demo looks good except for few minor details.
Of course now days ppl want better graphics, effects, new things and multi player, but with the same or better game play. From the looks of D3 graphics is like everyone here is saying, just like titan quest, which is true coz come on anyone who has seen or played titan quest can tell D3 looks like that. Granted that texture and effects of D3 are better in some ways but still, they spent years developing this game so they could have developed a new and better graphics engine instead of copying from Titan Quest.
Game play and story was the most important part of the Diablo series. In its predecessors game play was fast and quick, with the fun and inspiration to upgrade ur characters level, find new accessories like magic item, weapons, armors and of course skills. Players wanted to move forward wanting to know the story and see what his/her character could do with every new skill. That’s one of the reason I played with all characters wanting to know what they can do. From the game play video D3 looks kinda slow and the new skill tree looks boring and non original. Im sure Blizzard are not gonna keep everything the same but if inventory, character level and skill level menu becomes complicated or harder to figure out then there is no point to upgrade.
I have played hundred games over the years, of course some games for first time and some sequals. I have always noticed something about sequals. If these game developers improve graphics or change the engine, they ruin game play or story but with D1 and D2 it didn’t get worse but better. So im hoping Blizzard did the same with the new Diablo sequal. Multiplayer option? Screw that why the hell would I wanna bring a friend in to play my quest when im playing solo quests? I have never liked multiplayer games like WoW but still. DIABLO is suppose to be single player game so plz keep it the same.
Its is always fun to have new characters added to the game, witch doctor looks gay! Yes it does but why not.. as long as they have the original characters with improved skills then its fine. Adding new charcter gives player more option and type of game play to choose from. So I don’t think it’s a bad idea. Some ppl belevie witch doctor is a replacement of necromancer, if it is then that’s just sad necromancer was the first character I played with and loved it.
Ok when ppl stared talking about “colors” I figured its about the world degine of Diablo3. ya to original was dark gloomy especially kurast, but in the demo we see a very happy titan quest look like forest where the players join up with other multi player people to beat the shit out of others. Um well that is very titan quest with multiplayer touch makin it like WOW, nothing about that scene was Diablo game play. If you think about it too much dark and gloomy places gets to u after a while when playing. Kurast was just tooooooo huge to walk around it got boring until reaching the city place. So maybe bright new titan quest look alike might not be a bad idea, can be a good change of scenery as long as they don’t over do it. I cant tell unless I play the demo or the game myself.
All in all I am a big fan of Diablo and I am desperately wating for the full finised game to come out. Heard about some leaked demo but cant find it anywhere. According to some ppl the game is suppose to be released 9 9 09, which is a fasinating idea, some say march 27th 09. I just don’t care about rumors I just hope it comes out soon and if they are taking this much time I hope its bug free. I don’t want to buy the game, sit on my pc install it and then when I play the game something goes wrong. That just pisses the fuck out of me. I hope the game testers test the game on different systems, good, excellent and horrible pc so they know the game atleast is bug free.
Cant wait and looking forward to it. If anyone knows when its coming out and where I can find the demo, please let me know asasp.

Wow Shinigami, u wrote allot man. I agree with most point u suggested.
1. gameplay improvement is good but not changing it from the original.
2. graphics and story should be improved, but I think story should continue not drastically changed.
3. more characters (new ones) means different type of gameplay which means u can play the game longer and many times. That’s very true.
4. skill, character level, item menu should be easy to use like D2 otherwise it beats the purpose of upgrading in the new one.
5. if there are bugs in the game, fix it befor releasing the full version. I also don’t want to install and find out it doesn’t work, im speaking from experience. “ gears of war” bought the dam thing and it would refuse to run. Got a high end pc and found out millions are having the same issue. If anything like that im gonna sue blizzard.
6. I like the idea where enemy drops potions or was it health thingy when u kill them. Its easier coz I used to hate carring potions or actually going back to my stash and stockin them up in my belt. So after u kill some baddy they drop some health so u can move on, that’s good.
I also would like to know when the game is gonna be released officially, man if its 9 9 09. that would be cool but until then I want the DEMO. Anyone know where I can get it from….
