Now, prepare to be surprised by some of the reasoning behind this “news”. Diablo 3 release date has been a hot topic and we’ve all heard the usual Blizzard rhetoric that Diablo 3 will come out WHEN the game is ready.
First, some background: a guy who played Diablo 2 for years got a DOL rune and experimented with it until it crushed the game. He got an error message … a series of meaningless numbers. Or are they?

So why is this significant in ANY way? OK, this is the geek part: 64 69 61 62 6c 6f 20 33 20 20 30 39 2f 30 39 2f 30 39 is hex for : Diablo 3 09/09/09. That means that if you translate the hexadecimal code, it gives you Diablo 3′s release date.
Now, the critical part. How likely is that Diablo 2 developers knew in advance when Diablo 3 will be released? NOT LIKELY. At the same time, if I were head of development at Blizzard and I was a bit of a numerology freak… I’d pick EXACTLY this date. Why?
Well, it’s pretty obvious. 09-09-09 represents 666 if you turn it upside down. The number of the beast! (cue the Iron Maiden song here)

Hey, the guy who posted the code went into great detail about the way you get this error message. Several people have been able to replicate it. However, it’s up to you to decide if Diablo 3 09-09-09 means what we think it means.
yeah at least some screenshot maybe prove it.

Is there any major events that are going to the on at that time in the gameing world also, ill keep an eye out on ARGnet and u nfiction forum for an ARG if they go into putting alot of publicity into it as Diablo 3 could easily have an ARG going to advertise it.
i say that because on ARGnet at the moment there is a WoW ARG running ( http://www.argn.com/ ) and so it looks like blizzard are going down that route seeing as wrath of lich has just been released.

What you got there is the ASCII values, the first ASCII value you have is 100, which is “d”, next is 105 which is “i” and so on.

Nice to see that they have gotten a date on this long awaited game.
not that im complaining about the wait as i look forward to a good game with plenty of dash under game and play, hoping that theres more depth in the game then lots of effects.

Only one problem I see with the post above.. 666 has been determined to NOT be the devils number by many different theologins. So poo poo for you trying to say that.. but the code thing is interesting.. that guy has WAY WAY WAY too much free time to be figuring crap like that out.

i think the code means 10-31-09 because i used a code breaker for the nintendo and it came out to oct.31,2009 at 4:30pm so i think that is when it will come out 9-9-09 does not mean a thing unless you add it up to 18 then split it up to 3-6′s but the game shark came up with 1031-094302 that translate to 10-31-09 at 4:30 and the 2 =pm 1 would be am there you go!
now i wish the game would come out by june but that won’t happen by the way blizzard you are making the best kick ass game that there is thanks!!!!!!!!!

Diablo has 13818 HP on Normal, not 34300 as claimed in the conspiracy, throwing the numbers off.
